Description
This course moves beyond fundamentals of organizational behaviour and foundational influences from psychology to explore research and evidence-based practice of psychological health in the workplace (PHW) based on scholarly and practitioner publications. We review research evidence, best practice initiatives, and legal imperatives with a focus on Canadian contexts along with important international developments. Historical and contemporary definitions, theories, and PHW practices are traced, while also considering scientific, organizational, and societal implications. We explore workplace factors associated with psychological health and ill-health , including psychosocial hazards, framed around issues of prevention, intervention, and accommodation.
