Description
This course offers a general survey of the major areas of public administration. It introduces students to basic terminology, concepts, and issues in the field of public administration. The course begins with organization theories and the relationship between public administration and politics. Topics may include: leadership, change management, ethics, equity and diversity as human resource issues in the public sector, public sector unionization, policy planning and government budgeting, tools of accountability such as program evaluation and performance measurement. Students also learn about public sector trends in alternative service delivery.
