UW Smart Planner is operated from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, and handles personal information in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

What we collect

• Nothing, for browsing. Searching and viewing courses works without an account and sends no personal data to us — search runs on your own device.
• Your profile stays on your device by default. The degree, major and completed courses you enter are stored in your browser and never sent to us unless you sign in.
• If you sign in: your university email address and a backup of that profile, so it can be restored on your other devices. We never see or store your university password — sign-in is a one-time link sent to your university email.
• If you enable notifications: a push subscription token for your browser or device.

What we use it for

Only to provide the service: saving your plans, sending notifications you asked for, and keeping the service secure. We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties for marketing. Your academic plans are visible only to you.

Where it lives and how long

Account data is stored with our database provider in Canada (Montréal region). Other hosting providers involved in serving the site may process requests outside Canada. We keep your data only while your account exists.

Your choices

• Use the planner without an account at all.
• Turn notifications off at any time in your browser or device.
• Delete your account, which removes your saved data. Contact us to request a copy or correction of your information.
