Description
This course builds upon the knowledge and skills acquired in Clinical Radiation Oncology I. The course continues to focus on cancer, with emphasis on clinical presentation, routes of spread and the management of major tumour sites in both adults and children. Considerable time is spent on treatment techniques and sequelae of treatment, which enhances the student's critical thinking skills as it relates to a variety of scenarios. Students will also gain an understanding of systemic radiation therapy treatment and the role of radiation therapy in the treatment of benign disease. The lab component of this course provides the student with hands-on experience allowing them to relate the didactic material to simulated clinical situations.
