Description
This course is intended for students with a working knowledge of intermediate French wishing to undertake a program in French Studies (literature or linguistics), or to improve their written French for other disciplines. The focus is on perfecting grammatical and syntactical skills (e.g. direct and indirect speech, the passive, and complex sentences) through short writing activities. The weekly one-hour lab (travaux pratiques)) is dedicated to developing greater ease with using vocabulary, morphology, and syntax.

Placement test, or FREN-1104, or the former FREN-1111, or the former FREN-1112 [prerequisite(s)]; FREN-2105L (lab) (must be taken concurrently).
