Description
This course provides an introduction to the legal environment in which Canadian businesses operate. Students learn background material on the Canadian constitution, courts, and legislative system. They then discuss the most common forms of business organization in Canada: sole proprietorships, partnerships, co-operatives, and corporations. Finally, students explore the law of torts and the law of contract. Students who do well in this course may customarily apply it toward the Chartered Professional Accountant program.
