Description
This course examines Christian thought and practice globally in light of the dramatic and often violent events of the twentieth century. Topics may include the two world wars, the Shoah, the Cold War, the Civil Rights and anti-war movements, feminist, liberation, and decolonial movements, as well as the rise of Christian fundamentalism. Special attention is given to those voices and movements that responded to and helped to shape public life thought during this century, including the Confessing Church, the Civil Rights Movement, and Vatican II.
