Description
This course continues to review and build on the essentials of Italian grammar and increase proficiency in the following skills: writing, reading, aural comprehension, and oral expression. Students are expected to read, translate and discuss short stories/poems and readings on current events, and write compositions about relevant topics on Italian culture. Various readings from selected topics on Italian culture such as the arts, literature, politics, sport, food, immigration and globalization prepare students to think critically in Italian and expose them to aesthetics and societal changes in the Italian diaspora. Additional practice in conversation takes place during a mandatory one-hour language lab session per week.
