Taking ITAL-1001 is a prerequisite for 1 course directly, and opens 2 once their own follow-ons are counted.

Description

This course is designed for students who have little or no previous knowledge of Italian and who wish to acquire a solid base in the written and spoken language. An effort is made to place equal emphasis on reading, writing, aural comprehension, and oral expression. To this end, one hour of language laboratory / small-group work supplements classroom work each week.

Requisite courses

ITAL-1001L (lab) (must be taken concurrently).

Note

Native speakers of Italian or students who have standing in Italian 40S or equivalent are not eligible to take this course.
