Description

This course introduces a number of topics in modern microeconomic theory. Modern microeconomic theory stresses the influence of asymmetric information, uncertainty, and strategic behaviour on the operation and performance of markets. Topics may include choice under uncertainty, expected utility theory, the insurance decision (including moral hazard and adverse selection), signaling models, and game theory. The course is primarily designed for students wishing to pursue graduate work in Economics or Finance.
