Where BIOL-4902 counts
Counts toward 2 more as one option among several, not as a course you must take:
Read from the departments' own calendar pages, where 50 of 208 programs are only partly machine-readable, so treat these as a minimum rather than the full list. Confirm with an academic advisor.
Description
This course examines the principal reactions of the energy and biosynthetic metabolism of bacteria using Escherichia coli as the model system. Additional topics to be discussed include metabolic diversity and catabolic activities of aerobic heterotrophs; regulation of bacterial metabolism; bacterial fermentations; chemolithotrophic and phototrophic metabolism, and fixation of molecular nitrogen.
