Description
This course deals with major issues in the theory of acting and other modes of theatrical performance, with attention to Stanislavsky, Meyerhold, Artaud, and Grotowski, as well as to more recent attempts to understand the nature of acting, the principles underlying actor training, both physical and psychological, and the aesthetics of acting and other performance modes. Some attention will be given to recent cross-cultural and cross-disciplinary studies of performance.
