Description
This course explores the director's process in the dramatic theatre, including such matters as play selection, the audition, coaching actors, and finding "the theatrical metaphor." In the lab sessions students present scenes and receive criticism of their work. The final project for the course includes the direction of a one-act play. The student also writes papers of intent and papers of self-criticism in connection with each directing assignment.
