Description
Conflict Resolution, Social Change and the Arts explores how different arts have been used to affect social change. The course looks at ways that cultural productions play a positive role in building peaceful societies. The expressive arts and other action methods can provide a bridge between personal and collective experience to help people master complex feelings in their healing process while also inspiring, motivating, and uniting social movements. The course covers theory and practice from around the world highlighting community-based arts. Students learn how to implement arts within community projects and the assessment of outcomes and, as such, make connections between artistic disciplines and community well-being.
