Description

This course is intended for students who have an interest in pursuing a career in some aspect of the arts and would like to acquire a greater understanding of the operational aspects of the business. The course begins with a general introduction to the formation of an arts-centred organization. Class discussions include topics such as: the role of a board of directors; establishing a mandate and objectives; forming a business structure; staffing that structure; ongoing management control systems; and funding alternatives and methods, including applications for public funding.
