Description
This course examines the main literary genres and movements of the Golden Age in Spain through the study of representative works from the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries by such authors as Garcilaso de la Vega, San Juan de la Cruz, Santa Teresa de Jesús, Cervantes, Góngora, Quevedo, Calderón de la Barca, Lope de Vega and Tirso de Molina. Special emphasis is placed on the study of Don Quijote de la Mancha, the first modern novel of Western literature.
Requisite courses
