Description
This course examines the emergence of representative democracy in Western industrialized nations. Particular emphasis is given to social and political forces impacting on government and the state, the rise and demise of the Keynesian welfare state, and the abilities of governments to deal with the challenges of "globalization". This course also examines variables linked to voting behaviour in these countries.
