Description
This course examines a selection of the precursors, proponents and critics of post-modern political thought such as Nietzsche, Foucault, Rorty, Lyotard, Jameson, Butler, Habermas, Derrida and Baudrillard. This course focuses on the politics generated by post-modernism. Among the questions considered are: What is modernism? What is post-modernism? What are the potential effects of a postmodern perspective on political theory and political practices? How has post-modernism influenced feminism and new social movements more generally?
