Description

This course provides an overview of energy, energy systems, and their impact on the environment with an emphasis on first principles of physics. Students learn the physics of energy, work, sources and types of energy, how energy is stored, transferred, used, and "lost". Students also study various large-scale energy systems (such as solar, wind, fossil, nuclear, geothermal, etc.) and their advantages, disadvantages, and impact on the environment.
