Description
This course considers hypotheses about the nature of things as suggested by recent developments in the physical and biological sciences coupled with philosophical speculation. How have modern theories of evolution, relativity, genetics, biochemistry, quantum mechanics, electromagnetism, and nuclear physics altered our understanding of the origins and nature of the cosmos? In the light of scientific theory and speculation on such topics, the course reassesses philosophical theories about space, time, matter, and life.
