MATH-3402 prerequisites

6 courses appear in this chain, up to 2 levels deep. 1 is needed whichever route you take: MATH-1401

Part of this course's requisite text couldn't be parsed into structure, so the chain below may be incomplete. The full wording is under “Requisite courses”.

Add your completed courses to see which of these you've already done and what you could take next. They stay on this device.

Taking MATH-3402 is a prerequisite for 1 course directly.

Where MATH-3402 counts

Counts toward 3 more as one option among several, not as a course you must take:

  • MATH 3-YEAR BA/BSc IN MATHEMATICS
  • MATH MINOR IN MATHEMATICS
  • MATH TEACHABLE MINOR IN MATHEMATICS

Read from the departments' own calendar pages, where 71 of 141 programs are only partly machine-readable, so treat these as a minimum rather than the full list. Confirm with an academic advisor.

Description

This course includes the following topics: counting (inclusion-exclusion principle, addition and multiplication principles, pigeonhole principle, permutations, combinations, the binomial theorem), generating functions and recurrence relations.

Requisite courses

MATH-1401 and one of MATH-1102 or MATH-1101 or MATH-1103 or MATH-1104 [prerequisite(s)].
