Description

The Cree Immersion course provides students with an opportunity to learn conversational Cree in culturally safe and supportive learning environment. The emphasis is on building confidence and ability to use Cree in daily and cultural life. Through task and project-based immersion learning, students learn Cree pronunciation, vocabulary, expressions, and grammatical structures for generating simple sentences such as assertions, questions, and demands. As a class, students work on listening comprehension and oral expression skills. Students reflect on their own learning processes in order to develop lifelong language learning practices.
