Description

This course provides an opportunity for Indigenous language learners to work with proficient speakers in a mentoring/apprenticeship context to develop language proficiency and communicative competence. Students learn how to identify and build relationship with a mentor, how to develop goals and plans for one-on-one language learning, and how to evaluate progress. By the end of the course, students communicate at a proficiency level higher than that with which they began the course and are equipped for lifelong language learning beyond University. This course may be repeated for credit when the level or type of language varies.
