Description

In this lecture/seminar course, students examine the history of modern retail business organization, with special attention being given to the Hudson's Bay Company's urban retail stores. The extensive archives of the company affords students an excellent opportunity to study major issues in accounting, personnel, management, and marketing. The external social and political context in which the stores operated is also studied.
