Description
This course surveys the Mughal period, the emergence of regional states, the transition to colonialism, the East India Company Raj, the British colonial state, the rise of Indian nationalism, and issues of democracy and authoritarianism in South Asia (India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka) since independence.
