Description

The 'new cultural geography' examines the constitution of power and ideology through space and place. This course considers a variety of these geographies including those of race, gender, nature, landscape, commodification, and capital, and examines representational practices such as photography, ethnography, mapping, and writing. Through weekly article discussion and problem-based learning exercises, students develop skills in critical analysis, interpretation, and communication.
