Description
This course examines the dynamics of natural resource development in Canada. In doing so, students consider the governance of primary resources, including the economic, institutional and social systems which frame resource development. Political economy frames the analysis of current resource management laws and policies. This provides a foundation for critiquing competition in each sector, and mapping the varied interests of members of the policy community. Particular attention is paid to how different actors influence governance processes.
