Description

Instruction and Assessment: English Language Arts II (4 hrs Lecture) This course introduces students to the instructional approaches and assessment strategies relevant to the teaching of English Language Arts in Grade 11 and 12 within the context of the Manitoba Education Curriculum Frameworks for English. Emphasis is placed on effective ways to teach literature and non-fiction appropriate for the upper levels of senior high and on recent adolescent literary research and critical inquiry. Students explore instructional strategies that include reflective writing, collaborative inquiry, novel-study groups, and interactive media presentations.
