Description
This course looks at the life and conquests of Alexander the Great. It begins with a chronological examination of the rise of Macedon under Alexander's father, Philip II, Alexander's early life, his conquest of the Persian Empire, and ultimately, his death. Four major themes are then explored: Alexander's military and its evolution, his relationship to mainland Greece, his empire, and his divinity.
