Description

This lecture based course focuses on the evolutionary history of vertebrate organisms. Students explore evolutionary concepts such as comparative anatomy and physiology, cladistics and taxonomy, and evolution development theory. Working through geological time, students learn about the rise (and fall) of major vertebrate groups, and the features and characteristics which define them. When applicable, Canadian and Manitoban examples of vertebrates will be highlighted.
